The Cost of Cheap Travel Insurance

Holiday season is firmly with us, with thousands of British residents fleeing to soak up the sun abroad. On the list of essential things to take is always Travel Insurance.

Given that saving money is on everyone one’s minds right now, it is understandable to want cheap cover – but will this actually give you what you need?

Many insurance companies do offer ‘stripped down’ policies, which offer a more favourable cost – but make sure you check the details as you could be without baggage cover, key heath insurance or a higher excess.

All of these points could actually ruin your holiday, leaving you stranded in a medical situation that you end up paying yourself – or up to £200 as an excess!

So when you are packing your suntan lotion, travel money, sunglasses etc.. remember to not rush getting travel insurance, and get covered with someone you trust.

Ryanair and Axa sign travel deal

Insurance Times are reporting that Ryanair and Axa have signed up to a signficant deal to supply travel insurance online through the Ryanair site.

The low cost airline, which carries 67 million passengers annually,  has signed a long term deal (5 years) to bring holiday insurance to passengers through its website.  The deal takes effect in three months.

Axa and Ryanair – Travel Insurance Deal

Post Online are reporting that Ryanair have selaed a deal with AXA for holiday insurance services.

Ryanair have come to an agreement with AXA to provide travel insurance for the clients of the low budget airline.  The deal starts in 3 months and will mean Ryanair passengers will be offered single trip or annual holiday policies online.

Michael Cawley, of Ryanair, said: “We are delighted that our partnership with Axa Travel Insurance will allow our passengers to purchase great value, great quality, travel insurance directly from the Ryanair website.” Axa assistance president Yves Masson said: “Our new partnership with Ryanair is an exciting opportunity to provide Ryanair’s passengers with our great value Axa travel insurance products and unrivalled service provided by Axa Assistance.”
