Keighley Highest Cash for Crashes Area!

Keighley in Lancashire has been dubbed the highest cash for crash scam area of the UK.   A cash for crash fraudulent claim involves people colluding to ‘create’ an accident and then making fraudulent claims often regarding personal injury.  The Keighley News, a local paper has covered the story in the last week.

There is evidence that this crime is used to fund more serious criminal activity such as running drugs or guns.

A major individual involved in such a scam was recently bought to justice after a significant operation from West Yorkshire Police force.

Although these operations seem to having an impact as the cash for crash scam numbers have fallen by over 10% in the last 2 years.  This type of fraud has the effect of raising everyones premium as the industry has to meet higher claims bills
